Starting point
The Chamber of Industry and Commerce of Coburg represents the region's businesses and advises companies and founders. It works entirely in Microsoft 365.
The chamber had tested an existing chat service for the public sector and reached its limits: the answers were not convincing, internal content was not connected and the link to Microsoft 365 was largely missing.
The chamber's knowledge was spread across SharePoint, mailboxes, calendars and Teams. It needed one central point of access that meets the data protection and permission requirements of a public body.
What we built
We built a web application that answers questions in natural language and accesses Microsoft 365 content live. Nothing is copied, stored or moved into a separate index.
- Sign-in with the existing Microsoft account (single sign-on via Entra ID)
- Live access to SharePoint, Outlook, Calendar and Teams via Microsoft Graph
- Existing permissions apply: everyone only sees what they can see in Microsoft 365
- AI models hosted in EU data centres, with no data retention by the provider
- Optional web search, personal profiles for role and tone
- Logging and monitoring for operations

Outcome
- Answer with sources
- Evaluations from calendar and mailbox
- Drafts for recurring requests
Outcome
The platform has been accepted and is in daily use. One advisor evaluates her monthly consultation appointments straight from the calendar, accurate down to the single appointment. As a next step, agents are being tested that prepare recurring requests, such as initial information for founders.
